A distanza di 12 giorni già trascorsi , di Mepisitalia.org neppure se ne parla più sparita ogni traccia.
Comincio a dubitare di dover prendere atto che neppure se ne voglia fare più di nulla . Il tutto trascurando 2012 utenti regitrati ed attivi raggiunti in questi 6 anni di attività con molta pazienza e non poco sacrificio . At a distance of 12 days have elapsed, the Mepisitalia.org even talk about it more every trace disappeared. I begin to doubt the need to recognize that even if they want to do more than anything. All neglecting 2012 Registered Users active and achieved in these six years of work with great patience and no little sacrifice. |

Although I had no role in any of this, I have received information from peregrine and Acesabe about the history behind this, and thought I would try to post what facts are known. As I understand it:
1) Donna contacted the webmaster (=francofait?) of mepisitalia a long time ago and told him he needed to move the site. Apparently that was not done. 2) Donna did not have access to their sites and therefore could not make a backup. 3) Peregrine talked with people at hostgator.com where the site was hosted and was told that the account for mepisitalia.org has been cancelled. There is no possibility of getting the files at this late date. 4) If the webmaster of mepisitalia did not make a backup, there appears to be no way to restore what existed. 5) Peregrine could host the site, and francofait or someone else connected with mepisitalia might want to start again. Scusate, a questo punto forse è il caso di cominciare valutare se organizzarsi in altro modo. O ci appoggiamo definitivamente qua, ma mi pare un gran peccato, oppure ci sarebbe l'ILDN. Franco, chiedo a te che eri il webmaster, non esiste neppure un backup del sito? Se sì sarebbe possibile rimetterlo su autofinanziandosi? O sarebbe un lavoro impossibile o magari troppo lungo che (+ che legittimamente) non ti sentiresti di fare? Scusa le domande magari banali ma non me ne intendo molto di queste cose.

Since the old site was not backed up, MepisItalia would have to be rebuilt, probably starting with the cache from WayBack which we have secured.

Meno male che c'è ancora qualcuno!
Pensavo di avervi perso!. Quando ho visto che non c'era più il forum ho pensato che fosse in manutenzione! Poi ho pensato che non ci fosse più mepis. Meno male che stasera mi è venuto in mente di collegarmi a mepis lovers. Ma si può sapere se mepis continua oppure dobbiamo migrare altrove? Grazie |
