Post xine was unable to initialize audio drivers
this problem started after the recent round of updates... i'm not sure if it's related to the latest kde update or what, but i've noticed that my sound will stop working after a while.

i still have to do some testing so this may just be a coincidence, but the last two times i had firefox and mythtv's frontend left running...

the only cure seems to be a reboot since restarting sound under control center doesn't work...

i lose sound system wide - i have not found an application that will play sound once this happens.

i've reapplied the xine plugins and misc because in the past that seemed to cure it, but not this time.

thoughts?

lspci shows...

well, as a hail mary i simply reinstalled ALL of the previously installed alsa and xine related software...

whatever the mp8 kde update fixed ended up mucking up the sound on my system. so far, after reinstalling the alsa/xine stuff the sound works as it should
