I deleted the linux extended partition from the windows 7 side, then ran the whole set of restore discs. Seems like I read that if you wanted to get rid of linux, just delete it from the windows side, and then you could expand your windows partition, except I wanted to wipe all my windows stuff (anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware, etc.) too. I had even left all the little stickers on, and the plastic cover. I had all my packing, hadn't taken the twistee off the power cord, really did everything to try to keep it as nice and perfect as I could "just in case".
