 Thanks Kmathern, but I can't use those, 1200 goes over the max vertical of this screen (the resolution given is the max).

Well then try these two
vga=837 or vga=838 which correspond to: Mode 0x0345: 1400x1050 (+2816), 16 bits Mode 0x0346: 1400x1050 (+5632), 24 bits |

Thanks!! I changed it to 838 and tried. It worked.

Great to hear a nice sys build story success! Photos look good too =) I never got round to setting the correct vga= config as I use Grub2 from an Ubuntu install - supports Ext4 ootb (as does Grub 'legacy' according to some people..?) - I just need to find out how to edit this for Grub 2 so I get reasonable tty font size. Don't care about Splashy...

Have you been using the onboard network card this whole time? I am curious on its performance. When I first got the motherboard the NIC was a bit flaky so I started using a PCI card instead. I am interested in getting a new router and want to give gigabit LAN a try. I have been using the same hardware since the build so no new cards added or anything. Using all on board stuff. I have a router, but it is an older one already now, WRT160N, works peachy with the system. My experience with all this is perfect. I haven't had a flaw happen yet *knock wood* No more sgfxi needed and line in works as well now without workarounds. Has it only been 2.5 years that I have this system?? It feels longer! *laughs* Hmm I need to update my sig..
