Re: MEPIS 10.9.90 beta #2 released - bug reports & feedback
OK, Sorry to burden the board with my incompetence. I searched the wiki, and noted that 64 bit support has been dropped for the flashplayer-nonfree. So, I re-enabled the Debian multimedia, and installed the flashplayer-mozilla (2:10...) And now I can play the Youtube trailer. This used to work, but some up-date must have regressed my install. All is happy again with Mepis11 beta 2 ! -Jay

Re: MEPIS 10.9.90 beta #2 released - bug reports & feedback
I have installed the latest on 3 machines ( two of which the last one would not boot or had crappy resolution, as I posted here ). Monitor resolution out of gate, in one case with a little nudging, and all is well at melloe's place. Sorta funny. I had to use Jump drive for a URL. rebooted after updates without unmounting. Would not boot. removed jump drive and it booted with all sorts of messages about it. My bad.. Be careful about mounting and unmounting external devices Some modern motherboards will default to booting from a USB drive if present. OOPS <G><
Great JOB all around guys. Thanks!!!!

 Updated beta installation question
After using SM11 beta 2 for about a month and loving it, I would like to know if I continue to apply updates will I get the same result as an installed final release, or do I have to start over. This thing has been rock solid and I would prefer not to have to apply all my personalizations again, if I don't have to. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. I do believe I searched the forum as much as practical, and didn't see a similar post, but do forgive me if this has been answered in the past. Either way I am sticking with MEPIS.
Jeff

In general you will get to final this way. But if new packages are added, just applying upgrades will not add them, as that upgrades packages already installed. But apt-get dist-upgrade as root from the command line should do the job. If I am mistaken I am sure the Debian gurus will correct me.
