I'm trying to get a game called Think Tanks installed in Mepis.
Has anyone else ever installed it or would someone be able to tell me very simply how I might try to do so??

This is what I tried in a console:

I don't know, one thing I notice is arch=unknown, what do you run 64 bit or 32 bit MEPIS?

I googled for your error and some people recommended running the program with linux32 like this:

ThinkTanks.bin: ../../src/xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed.

I've hunted around a bit, and this bug has been reported on Ubuntu when Hardy was released. The only solution that appeared to work was to downgrade libx11-6 (to essentially the debian etch version). I'm afraid that's not really feasible for MEPIS 8.5.

I just installed & ran it on MEPIS 11 alpha 4. It does require libgtk1.2 which is not in the standard repos. MEPIS 11 uses the debian squeeze repos. Debian removed libgtk1.2 from squeeze because it is no longer supported. You have to enable the lenny repo briefly to install it, and you also need libgladeui-1-9 from the default repos.

Does not solve your problem. but I would not recommend Alpha 4 unless you are willing to be a tester, give reports back to Warren, and expect problems. It is an alpha, and although quite solid from the reports about it, it is still not intended as a production system. You can expect the first beta soon and a series of betas before the final release, just to give you an idea of where it stands in the development cycle.

Based on what Tim said, he couldn't get it to run in 8.5 do you have any suggestions if it only worked for him in 10.82?? I would really like to get this running if possible.
