 Re: My Dilemma
I remember upgrading from 8.0 to 8.5 beta (or was it Danum's "cano"?) using the save /home option and that was a little dicey. Going from 8.5 to 11 alpha was a breeze.

 Re: My Dilemma
Joany - I would just go ahead and repartition your sda to make space for M11 (and maybe a testing partition as well). I'm a serial partitioner, and I've just counted up my repartitioning of my old disk 1, which started as a WinXP-only disk. Repartitioned twice before I tried Mepis, and 5 times since. Initially with 2 primary and 2 logical partitions, it has ended up with 10 partitions and is now working less hard as the single disk in Anne's machine.
I've used WinXP partition manage, Acronis Disk Director, KDE Partition Manager, DOS fdisk and linux fdisk at various times without problems (except resizing an ntfs partition with a bad block) and I've never lost any data. Just double check every step before you commit.
Phil

 Re: My Dilemma
Shouldn't be necessary. It's not at all difficult to remove the packaged Fx version and install Fx4 from the Moz tarball while retaining all your bookmarks and most all of your extensions.

 Re: My Dilemma
I agree. Mozilla will install on almost any debian distribution. It's not tied to KDE 4 at all.
