Still in testing repository?

#11 Postby JJM » Sat Nov 06, 2010 4:41 pm

I noticed these packages are still in the testing repository. Are they still in testing mode or are there plans to move them to the main CR?

Are there reasons that I would want to (or not want to) update these libraries?

TIA

Jeff

Mainly there was a problem with the 8.5 stock Korganizer--I have rebuilt the kdepim packages on 64-bit which seems to have fixed it, and will do the 32-bit today. If that works to fix it, then I think they can move to main. I have quite a few builds that require it--including a build of Clementine today that no longer crashes or throws memory errors at me, so that's nice.

This Qt update breaks some functionality in Kontact & Korganizer - and possibly other apps that depends on kdepim. Packages may not move to main that break existing packages unless working updates for those packages are also moved. AFAIK, nobody has gotten around to building an updated kdepim.

On the other hand, there are some new packages that need Qt 4.6.3 to build, so for now it stays in testing for those that need it.

If you don't use Kontact or Korganizer you likely won't experience any issues installing this update.

With the new upgrade that when into main today, korganizer 4:4.3.4-3mlrepo1, the program still crashes when the holidays for the country are added in the options.

Anyone else verify this?
