Yep, it works, I installed it on my Sid partition (copied the .so file to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins folder)

"You have version 10.2.161.22 installed"

Seems to be working fine, youtube plays, Hulu plays.

Thanks solved the flash problem I have been chasing for two weeks. That is, now Opera plays flash. Need to figure the right folder to put it in for FF. Putting it in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins did not work for FF.

Don't know, /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins worked even for Iceweasel, you might have a different problem. Have you restarted FF?

Yes have restarted. But you are probably right. I have tried so many things I probably have links to the flashplayer.so file all over the place not to mention the wrong file in some folders. It will take some time and effort to sort it all out.

By the way about plugins does show flashplayer.so intalled. But is Shockwave Flash 10.2 d161. So I just need to find the right folder to put the new .so file in is my guess. There are several places on my system that have a firefox folder.

Maybe just # update-alternatives --config flash-mozilla.so
and selecting number ...or run it against flashplayer.so

Problem was noscript blocking flash. Obvious but I kept thinking it was more complicated. All working now.

On Firefox 3.6.9 and 10 from CR on MEPIS 8.5 64 bit, this square flash, is working much better. The last several stable flash versions, the flash would just stop working and I'd have to restart firefox.
Cheers

I still have issues with it in Opera, stops and hangs requiring restarting Opera. Not sure about FF. I have not been using it recently.

It might be Opera at fault here, I haven't had problems in Google Chrome.
