 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
I'm sure there's a better way, but I've rebooted many times getting a word or two each time by staring at the screen at a certain place to get an error message.
I should mention that all error messages don't need to have something done.

 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
After several reboots I managed to retrieve the messages of concern.
During boot
Setting kernel variables...error: "net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6" is an unknown key. error: "net.ipv6.bindv6only" is an unknown key Failed
During shutdwn
Loading cpufreq kernel modules FATAL error inserting powernow_k8 (lib/modules/3.0.0-6.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64/kernel/drivers/powernow_k8.ko) no such device FATAL error inserting pcc-cpufreq (lib/modules/3.0.0-6.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64/kernel/drivers/cpufreq/pcc-cpufreq.ko) no such device
invoke-rc.d Warning: invoke-rc.d samba reload called during shutdown sequence. Enabling safe mode: initscript policy layer disabled.
These don't seem to pose any dire problems, but some explanation as to what causes them would help ease my mind. Any assistance to making adjustments to rectify the messages would also help. I don't like error messages!!

 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
Short answer: they are all meaningless errors. You aren't running an AMD CPU, IPv6 has always been disabled and samba is just being noisy.

 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
As stated before I don't seem to have any issues with my setup due to errors. But from a pure non technical point it's a bit scary to see words like " warning, failed, error & FATAL being used. I don't mind getting under the hood & getting my hands dirty if it means I learn more about what makes the system tick. It would be fun to try & remove these errors.

 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
With all due respect, you would largely be wasting your time. If you insist however, then google enabling IPv6 in Linux and how to remove un-needed kernel modules, respectively. I would suspect the samba warning is largely unavoidable. Just keep in mind that if you break it, you get to keep the parts (TM).

 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
i installed this package, 32 bit version.
i assumed that grub would pick it up and boot from it, but it doesn't show in the grub menu. is there an easy way to add it or update it?

 Re: 3.0 Liquorix kernel debs
First of all a 3.1 kernel deb is available. viewtopic.php?f=39&t=32017. Update-grub as root in konsole will automatically generate a menu.list that grub will use.

You can also go to kmenu >settings >Mepis system assistant >click on repair system boot & reinstall grub bootloader.
