The hibernate/suspend is fixed (hopefully) for final.

Using live cd does xres=1366x768 work? if it does, then it should carry to installed /etc/X11/xorg.conf

That is pressing F3 at GRUB's menu screen (just to clarify).

Manually adding/typing it at grub boot menu. That option 1366x768 doesn't appear in the F3 menu.

I think that the toolbar items also can show up in the menu by adding the following line to ~/.icewm/menu
Code:
menufile Toolbar folder toolbar

Thanks all for the ideas. On my installation, this option does appear on the F3 menu, but neither selecting it nor manually entering the xres parameter at the grub boot has any effect.

Other ideas appreciated.

Thanks for heads-up on final version.

Have now installed it, and unfortunately doesn't address the xres issue. In further reading (wikipedia Intel GMA 500 on Linux) it appears this is a general issue for these drivers which is only addressed in Ubuntu and Jolicloud.

I've also now tried UMTSMon for my USB modem, and this throws errors, so going to try Jolicloud, which appears to address the same light/small constituency as AntiX, but with better netbook (e.g. resolution & USB modem) support. Will be interesting to see how it stacks up, since other allegedly lightweight distros I've tried were slugs compared to AntiX, and I prefer AntiX's old-school look to the iPad-look of Jolicloud.

P.S. Should have mentioned that hwinfo --framebuffer doesn't list any available resolutions above 1024.
