 Antix root login fails
Hello, I am able to login to antix as a user, yet when I try to login as root it fails. A short flash of a black background and then it returns to the antix login. It's kind of ironic. The reason I am trying Antix Mepis 11 is because Full Mepis 11 would log in as root but would not login as demo user. Not being able to login as demo prevented me from installing Full Mepis 11.
The computer is an HP AMD Athlon 2ghz 500mb ram. I think Winxp was previously on it. The computer was seriously infected with a virus that killed windows and jacked up the windows restore partition. Naturally there were no system discs of any kind with it. I managed to get the 95gigs of user files off with the help of Mepis live. I couldn't believe there was that much. Then formatted the harddrive and finally installed antix as stated above.
I am somewhat of a linux and mepis newb. Some extra explaining might be needed.

 Re: Antix root login fails
is this a live antix cd, or did you actually install antix to the hard drive?

 Re: Antix root login fails
by default, you cannot login as root in antix. if you need root privileges, login as normal user, open a terminal session and use the command sux to gain super user access.

 Re: Antix root login fails
If you really insist on logging in as root user, you can copy the .xinitrc file in your home/username directory to the root folder.
