What translations of the User's Manual exist?
It would be very helpful if we could collect references to any translations of the User's Manual for the Community website. We would like to know: - M7 or M8?
- Complete or partial?
- If partial, which sections exist?
- Where can people find it?
I know of a number that were started, but have no idea what state they are in now.
TIA

In my spare time, I translated the M7 Manual into 1940-50's jive talk, man.
It was cool as the cat's pyjamas, if you can dig that, jack!
But I'm waiting for a ring from my agent 'cuz I plan to sell it as poetry and make some sweet scratch, so I can hit the road when autumn falls and the wild goose calls.
Anybody else?

I have about one third of the mepis 8 manual translated to Spanish. The miniguide for M8 is also translated and I think it was already included into the liveCD. Maybe if you are starting the M8.5 manual we can use some kind of Version Control system. I can set one in my local mepis repo sever and giving you access.
PS: I was the last weeks really busy. Hopefully now I will be able to be as active as before.

Nice to see you around, Marcos!
I won't touch the 8.5 Manual until Warren gets an alpha out. But in the meantime, I am thinking that the first 4 sections of the User's Manual will be probably untouched, so any translation that exists can be used with little change. Section 5 (Configuration) is a different story, and I imagine that will need major revision. Sections 6 and 7 again are probably going to be fine as they are. So if you have time, I would say to concentrate on Sections 1-4, 6, and 7.
I would like to use a version control, but don't know much about that sort of thing. Open to ideas. Quanta has its own update methods that we used last time, and SilverBear might be able to help us here if he is up to it.

Sections 1 - 4 are completely translated. Not 6 and 7. I will work on them this week

With a huge delay, but here it is. Mepis 8 Manual, Sections 1 to 4 and 6 to 7 translated to Spanish. Sections 5, 8, 10, 11 and Glossary left. And of course a review of the translation and the style.
Now that I have a home again lets see what we can do with those new assistants for M8.5 or M9. New patched synaptic version coming a this week.

Wow, that's great! What a lot of work, Marcos, you get a great *flamenco* (well, sort of) concert in your honor!
We have started reformatting the Manual, and I am beginning to lay out the changes that have to be made. I will kick it into high gear when/if we ever see Warren's alpha.
That will be very nice, especially if it can fix all missing keys.
