It is Liquid Weather, a Superkaramba theme. Superkaramba is in the repos, and http://www.kde-look.org has many themes including liquid weather. Others include system monitors, email notifiers, music player info, etc.

Also give a look at http://liquidweather.net/

Usually: bottom right - because I'm in xterm sessions and the latest info is down there. Antix, Fluxbox. No icons ;)

I have two, no three in fact.

One at the bottom with a few things in there, one small one at the top with my most used applications and a news ticker, and then hidden on the top with all sorts of special characters. I can touch the top of the screen, click on one, and then simply middle click it into the writing area of choice.

Here is a screenshot:

mines in the middle. I'm too lazy to change it. I'm too comfortable with the default aesthetics apparently.

Mine is at the bottom @ 100%. I never really thought about having more than one. I'll have to give that a try.

I prefer two, Standard 100% at bottom and top one sized to small setting. Same setup on KDE4. I do have one wide screen so keep bottom and add one to side.
