 ktimetracker
I wanted to use this package for a complicated contract because of problems with GnoTime, but Synaptic says that it needs a lower version of libkdepim4. When I tried to force the lower version of that, it wanted to remove all sorts of other packages. I tried the lower version in Squeeze (4.4.7), but that had problems too.
This is actually pretty important to my business work, so I would appreciate any help in getting it installed. TIA

 Re: ktimetracker
You're using KDE 4.6.5, have you tested installing it in M11 with the default kde version? Synaptic says nothing about removing, but I didn't finish the installation. Don't want to break anything. Henry

 Re: ktimetracker
I don't have a default M11 to try it on, though I imagine it would work. Just not for my situation.
I would have thought that with the upgrade to KDE 4.6.5 the whole PIM module would be fine. As far as I can tell, the other PIM components have no trouble.

 Re: ktimetracker
Not much consolation to you but Ktimetracker installs in both versions of Mepis-Roadblock

 Re: ktimetracker
The version in the CR installs on the base KDE 4.5.3 it was built against, and also on M11 updated to KDE 4.7.4. It seems odd that 4.6.5 should be the odd one out. Sometimes Synaptic just plays stupid with libraries, so maybe aptitude on the command-line would find a solution?

 Re: ktimetracker
Thanks, but no diff: If I reject this solution, then the next one is to remove 70 packages and downgrade another 20. BTW: what does "Internal error: found 2 (choice -> promotion) mappings for a single choice" refer to?

 Re: ktimetracker
Give these a try: They are both simulations, remove the -s -V to do it for real.

 Re: ktimetracker
Thanks, but both failed: I have all 4 CR repos enabled, is there any other one I should have that I might not?

 Re: ktimetracker
Try adding the 4.7 repo, then do a dummy run using the commands Kent posted and see what it wants to add, or remove, other than that install Hamster, it is a Gnome time tracker app, but should install without any problems.
