 Re: MEPIS 8.0 Community Repo: The Iceweasel 4 ThreadJust go ahead and remove Firefox first, then install Iceweasel 5.0. Debian added that conflict for some reason. I'll remove it the next update for Iceweasel for 8.0--I already have done it for the M11 build (the mcr110+2) version, but only have so much free time for big builds like that.
You can also just uninstall what part of vlc is blocking the upgrade, then install the newer vlc. The default Preference is to use stable if using the repositories that ship with it.
