Shutting down from the menu just logs out.

 Shutting down from the menu just logs out.See the topic title. I go to the mepis menu --> leave --> restart computer. what happens is it logs me out and then just takes me back to the login screen. i then can go to the session screen and restart but its very annoying.
mepis 8.5 x64 can anyone help me with this? |

Re: Shutting down from the menu just logs out. My 8.5 64 does exactly the same thing==I just figured I had buggered something up==Maybe it wasn't me after all.

Re: Shutting down from the menu just logs out. I saw the same thing on a PCLinuxOS machine today running KDE 4.4.5, so this looks more like a bug than anything else IMHO.

Re: Shutting down from the menu just logs out. Weird... my mepis 8.5 64 bit restarts OK.
Attached is my Session Manger screen... that is the only thing I can think of. After Kmenu --> Leave --> Restart Computer, The second screenshot is what I see. waiting or clicking the yellow button both shutdown and restart my desktop. I had this happen and the way out is that when you get taken back to the login screen use the menu below the login and you will find that it works..... ...most of the time. If you get a console log in screen log yourself in and then you can shut down with the command poweroff as su. This stopped happening to me after I reran sgfxi. No idea why. |
