Find the configuration files. That's where you make them visible when minimized. Very easy to change, just "true and false" options.
Nothing disappears or behaves strange. It's the configuration files that has changed when you had a panel crash. Henry |

Re: Adding widgets/application launcher I forgot to say you probably have to edit the file when plasma is not running, or kill plasma afterwards. Else plasma saves its settings and overrides your changes.
I've done some small fixes without stopping plasma. Henry |

That was it. When I got the task manager back, everything I had running was there. Not sure I like this arrangement though. Seems too easy to bugger it up, and at what value to the ordinary user? There should be a big warning label on the default desktop LOCK WIDGETS |

The KDE4 Panel takes some getting used to. Lots of otherwise very adept people (Joany comes to mind) have had difficulty with it. I've found it just takes a different approach -- moving things slowly and smoothly, letting them fall into place. There's a different feel to it. That's the best way I can describe it. Re: Adding widgets/application launcher When moving things on the Panel you will have a four-pointed arrow over the widget that you are moving.
