 Re: Mepis-11.0 Trinity
I like both "retro" and "retroX" but with the number. "MEPIS 11 retro" or "MEPIS 11 retroX"

 Re: Mepis-11.0 Trinity
[quote="DanumYou have lost me, Why should KDE crash, when there is no KDE installed, Trinity is installed not KDE...[/quote] Okay I didn't know Trinity was a seperate than KDE, makes sense now that I think about it a little more and I knew you had it figured out. My concern would be some one install some application that required an updated library from KDE 4 and that would not be compatible with Trinity. I took a brief look at the Trinity site and they seem to have understood this and dealt with it. Hope this makes all those who still want the old KDE/Mepis happy.

 Re: Mepis-11.0 Trinity
Thanks for doing this, Danum. Personally I don't care what you call it, but do you need WW's permission to use the Mepis name/logos ?

 Re: Mepis-11.0 Trinity
He would if this were an actual release, but as long as it is just made available internally here, it just joins all the other remasters with MEPIS in the title.
Here endeth...

I am a diehard Mepis fanboi but others might be interested in an alternative Trinity/Squeeze distro:- http://exegnulinux.net

And when did this come in to force, "as long as it is just made available internally here" Having done remasters for a number of years this has never been the case before, as most of them where put directly up on Distro Watch by the Mepis Community, If this is how it is now it is defiantly Here endeth.

 Re: Mepis-11.0 Trinity
[Man, you start flaming for no reason whatsoever. Don't you have a middle level of speech for questioning and discussion?] I do not know of remasters that were put up on Distrowatch by the Mepis Community, except antiX which I believe was done with Warren's permission. My point was first a simple and legal one: the name "MEPIS" is copyrighted. In addition, it would be just common courtesy to the developer.

 Re: Mepis-11.0 Trinity
Hi all,
"Canteras-4.6 KDE 4:4.6.3 based on Debian unstable. Canteras-4.6 KDE 4:4.6.3 Netbook" on my Desktop has Danum's at the beginning because Danum created it (although not updated to KDE 4:4.6.3). Mepis, SimplyMepis was created by the god known has Warren Woodford, AntiX by anticapitalista. Need I say more?
