Which KDE for next MEPIS

#1 Postby cgriffin » Fri Apr 06, 2012 3:18 pm

Do we know which version of KDE will go into the next official MEPIS release?
I've heard good things about KDE 4.8, but see that debian is at 4.7.4 still

As far as I know, there's not an answer yet. If I'm not mistaken, Warren Woodford said he wanted the latest version possible...and surely that means the latest stable one. I've also heard beauties of KDE 4.8, and Danum's Roadblock remaster, with KDE 4.7.4, was great! (if only I could enable desktop effects on my Toshiba NB-100! :frown:)

Speculation on both questions, unless Jerry knows more.

I've got Chakra installed on my laptop and I'll agree that 4.8.1 is really nice. They are now testing 4.8.2 and it's looking good too. They don't use Debian so they package the software themselves and maybe more risky than Warren and Mepis want to take it.
