Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker

#1 Postby kapookee » Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:30 pm

Went to check on the torrents I'm seeding and found this note.....

http://linuxtracker.org/index.php?page=viewnews

Looks like we'll have to re-register. I haven't done so, so I don't know if the 8.0 and 8.5 torrents are still there!

I've checked the md5sums and have created new torrents for SimplyMEPIS-CD_8.5.01-rel1_32 and -rel1_64. (Are these the current release number versions?) At this time I can't seem to get the .torrent files uploaded to Linux Tracker. I'll keep trying this evening. If one or two of you would like to create the Mepis-8.0 releases and have those ready, that would be great. Due to my own health problems, I'm not very active here, so there probably needs to be a re-organization discussion about the Torrent Team. If you have the iso's and can join seeding, and --if I get these uploaded -- please join the Seeding. :crossfingers:

I can't even login there now. Site seems to be grunged. Will try tomorrow.

I just posted the old official release torrents for SimplyMEPIS 7.0, 8.0.15 and 8.5.01 in 32- and 64-bit.

They're not all showing up yet. We'll see. I have a couple more if these work.

They're all there, but I'm getting tracker errors, and I'm not showing up as a seeder.

If anyone else has been seeding the official releases, please look for the inactive torrents and download the .torrent files. Maybe you'll show up as a seeder.

5 more torrents posted (curretly not tracking properly):

antiX M7.5
antiX M8.5-486
antiX M8.5-686
antiX M11-486 (pt1)
antiX M11-686 (pt1)

The base and core versions will have to wait until tomorrow.

Currently, there are only 17 torrents on LinuxTracker.
2 are active
5 are non-MEPIS.

Goodnight.
P.S.: I couldn't load a MEPIS logo. I tried to load a tiff of the logo at the top of this screen, but I was unsuccessful. If anyone has any ideas...

It does seem as though LinuxTracker is a work-in-progress right now.
So far only a few features work as expected.

In the mean time; I have been able to get back to seeding by editing each tracker listing to:

http:/linuxtracker.org:2710/00000000000000000000000000000000/announce

(the 32-zeros tip mentioned on their forum).

At least the torrents that were interrupted by the move can complete.
