 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
Checking here: http://distro.ibiblio.org/mepis/released/, it appears to me that the current releases of 8.5 are 'SimplyMEPIS-CD_ 8.5.03-rel1' 32bit & 64bit

 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
LinuxTracker seems to be functional again.
Not 100% yet, but the PID thing seems straightened out and seeds show up now. More importantly; downloads will start!
I couldn't find the 8.5.03-rel1_32/64s on my machine, so put up the 8.5.01-rel1_32/64s instead. If anyone wants to put up the .03s; I'm downloading them now so I can join in seeding.
p.s. thank you SilverBear for your excellent "Starting a new torrent in Deluge for LinuxTracker" tutorial.

 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
Have uploaded the 8.5.03-rel1_32/64 CD and USB images.
I see peers for 8.0.15-rel_64 and USB 8.5.03-rel1_32, but transfers aren't starting. I'm not sure if the problem is the torrent, the tracker, or the peer. If anyone would like to join in seeding we might be able to get those transfers started .

 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
I had a thought at removing the 8.5.01-rel1 torrents, leaving the 8.5.03-rel1s so that only the most current versions are posted.
Don't really want to do that right now though, as I am seeing 14 seeders for the .01s but only 4 seeders for the .03s.
I can't really remember which version we had up at LinuxTracker before their move. Guess I'll leave the .01s up awhile longer so folks have a chance to pick up seeding the .03s.

 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
Wasn't there a difference between them? Something like 8.5.01 being the CD-version and 8.5.03 the USB-version? Henry

 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
8.5.03 is the first version that I remember a USB edition of - but there are SimplyMEPIS-CD_8.5.03-rel1_32 & _64 versions and SimplyMEPIS-USB_8.5.03-rel1_32 & _64 versions - torrents for all 4 are currently being seeded at Linux Tracker.
I believe the main difference is that the USB edition has more stuff in it because it is intended for a 1 GB or larger thumb drive. At least I seem to remember that from somewhere. However, at my age, my memory isn't always the best - someone please correct me if I'm wrong about this.
On a slightly different topic - can anyone point me at directions for setting up a USB edition of Mepis? I have a spare thumb drive that I would like to try it on.
Andy

 Re: Recent problems/changes at Linuxtracker
For unetbootin there's this wiki article: http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php?title=UnetbootinAnticapitalista has a different method using isohybrid, check this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=29288edit: oops, it looks like Anti's method is also included in wiki article

Thanks! Just what I was looking for, but I guess that my "Google-fu was weak". I just didn't search for the correct words.
I was also wondering if I needed to use unetbootin, or if I was lucky and something new had happened so that all I had to do was copy it to the thumb drive. Not likely, but I can dream, can't I?
