The mepis.org home page for M11 release
This new home page: http://www.mepiscommunity.org/dotorg4/was designed by a group of us and already has Warren's approval. At this point, it is open for final review. TIA

Re: The mepis.org home page for M11 release
Yes it looks good, but you have used an old version of Mepis.org to make the new one (old back up copy?). Mepislovers in links and information, etc etc. Things that has already been fixed. It's much easier if the updated version at http://www.mepis.org/ can be used to build the new page. Henry

Re: The mepis.org home page for M11 release
The font feels a little bit out of the place (like slapped over the image) I wonder if other font wouldn't work better. Not sure what I don't like, maybe because it's bold, maybe it doesn't fit the curly stuff in the background...

Re: The mepis.org home page for M11 release
Is there a technical reason for having "A Linux operating system based on Debian Stable" in two lines on the new page? The old version in one line looks more elegant to me and is the same as in the Forum. And that MEPIS RSS button, is it in the optimal place? It's breaking the line, can it be moved down or somewhere else? Henry

It looks very nice. It just does look like the whole page is set too far left on view from my 28" monitor.

Re: The mepis.org home page for M11 release
Really appreciate the direct links to the download page to get mepis; I always thought having to hunt for the download page from the wiki link left the searcher thinking you didn't really want them to find it easily. For the most part I like it fine, however the "just works" paragraph needs a small "exceptions" area after it explaining at least that some video cards and drivers will require additional cheat codes or finesse to boot. Not sure how to achieve that without distracting from the just works part but with so many people encountering boot up problems I think it would be a pre assurement that workarounds are available for problematic boots.

Re: The mepis.org home page for M11 release
Thanks for the feedback so far. It was drafted up on the old template a couple of months ago now to see if Warren liked the concept, and hasn't been touched since. Now for final we will start with the new one.
Not sure about the font, maybe Utopia has a suggestion?
Two lines? Not sure, we can look into it. The RSS button is always weird for me, but I am not sure if it can be fixed.

Re: The mepis.org home page for M11 release
Looks good!
I think the M11 block image needs to be centred in it's own (can be invisible) container so that keeps in-line with the blocks below it, rather than staying left justified, as it's alignment varies depending on browser window size:
div.block-wrapper.even [812x317]
but I'm really no expert on exactly how to achieve this - css no doubt...
