 Re: New Warren news
Maybe he should reconsider and start on M12, using Wheezy as a base......;-)....? I'd love that as an interim release: a finely configured Mepis 11.5 based on testing. To be followed by the M12 release based on "Stable Wheezy". A Squeeze-based M11.5 release would probably be a very short-lived experience: In less than a year (approx.) Wheezy will be the new stable Debian release. Wheezy currently already uses a fairly up-to-date kernel 3.2.x. Ko

 Re: New Warren news
Good idea, Not sure what his intent is, though I suspect it includes doing the least work possible while he is chasing income.

 Re: New Warren news
<grin> I suspect this won't be an easy update. Newer kernel and newer DTE backported to Squeeze... I don't claim to know much, but it sounds like a challenge. But I have faith...

 Re: New Warren news
I agree. On my test-system I have M11 and both Debian KDE Wheezy (testing; kde 4.6.5) with its blazingly fast 3.2.6-1 kernel and (sid based) Siduction with (currently) kernel 3.2.7 and KDE 4.7.2 (all 64bits) I was very positively surprised by both booting speed and general responsiveness of Debian Wheezy. It's the fastest, most responsive Linux I've seen in years. Siduction is fine, but only ' while it lasts' probably...:-) Yes, all debian+kde flavors are there on my testsystem: stable, testing and sid....:-) Ko

 Re: New Warren news
Good I am glad you have faith, because you never know what is around the corner, a question, why would you want to backport a newer DTE to squeeze, Squeeze based with KDE 4.7.4, plus a dash of 4.8, with Grub2, working to get it so you select the correct locale and keyboard when installing.
