M8.5 64 bit: Installed (not upgraded) 1.3.15 from CR
It gave a gecko error, but I clicked the "install now" button and it seemed to work.
Works OK for the windows program I tried. Thanks!

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - wine Thread
. I've been meaning to ask a question.
I used to get updated wine debs from winehq until they stopped providing them. During that time, the fonts in Windows apps ranged from too small to miniscule, but this was just one of those things I learned to accept. When Brooko began compiling the updates for M8.5, the fonts became larger and darker, a welcome change indeed. I notice now that they have become small again. My question is: Was this something that Brooko tweaked in his packages, or was that change just coincidental? Or is there something else at work here in M11?

Have you installed the Microsoft core fonts? The package name is ttf-mscorefonts-installer.

. Yes, MS core fonts are among the first things I always install. The wine fonts can be tweaked up using winecfg, but for a while there it was unnecessary.
I was just curious.

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - wine Thread
I reused Brooko's /debian folder to rebuild the newer versions, and there's no tweak in there, so it must be in the Wine source code.

I thought that might be the case. As I said, I was just curious.

Wine .16 is out. You think we can get that for 8.5 and 11?
Changelog.
New version of the Gecko engine, based on Firefox 4. Better support for Dwarf debugging information. Improved handling of animated cursors. GnuTLS no longer required on Mac OS X. Improvements to the GDI driver infrastructure. A number of MSI fixes for the .NET installers. Several GdiPlus improvements. Various bug fixes.
Thanks.

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - wine Thread
Yes, did a new pull of the sources from the Ubuntu PPA and have been working on them. Just finished...and am uploading the new wine-gecko I decided to it make a hard-depends, too, so that little "need to install wine-gecko" dialog should never appear. Should be in the repos tomorrow night. I also ended up backporting libmpg123 for 8 and 8.5 to get a real working version. Here's the temporary file locations until they are in the repo: libmpg123: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B1UMhs ... ZjI3&hl=enwine: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B1UMhs ...
