open Dolphin > Settings > Configure Dolphin > Services > Download new Services look in most downloads

Whenever I've used that feature the servicemenu never get's installed. The tarball does get downloaded to the ~/.kde/share/apps/servicemenu-download/ folder but that's as far as it goes.

Click on Details to see what dependencies are required before installing,
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - Dropbox Thread
OK... it's working on my M11 install now (Dropbox service menus installed in Dolphin). No dependency issues seen (installed fine in M11 using the script for that purpose). I downloaded it from here: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Dr ... ent=124416Then, I extracted it's contents, opened konsole, navigated to the new DropboxServiceMenu-0.15.3 folder created, then ran the install script (./install-it.sh) as mentioned under the "or run installation script..." section on the above page about it, and I got the new service menu choices in Dolphin. Note that if you run it as root, the service menus only show up as root. You'll need to run the install-in.sh script again without being logged in as root before all of the new choices show up in Dolphin with your normal user name.

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - Dropbox Thread
Okay, I was under the impression that when pressing the "Install" button that the servicemenu would be downloaded and installed automatically. It just downloads the tarball and leaves the rest (extracting the tarball, making the script executable and then running it) to the user. I still think a package would be better.

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - Dropbox Thread
Ooops....
I spoke too soon. IRT my last post about using the script to install them, I see that the service menu choices are showing up fine in Dolphin when I "right click" on a file and look under the new Dropbox menu I see. But, when I try to actually do something with them (for example, get a Public URL), I get an error screen about missing dependencies.
So, even though I got them to install and show up OK in Dolphin, they don't actually work.

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - Dropbox Thread
If you install the dependencies first the service menu is installed automatically you do not have to extract the tarball or anything else, . One of the main problems is a lot of the service menus etc are made for other distos buntu etc, and a lot have been updated to the current stable KDE release which is 4.6.2/3 not 4.5.3, so you have to check first, but the dropbox service menu will install in Mepis 11, as will the root actions service menu

Re: Mepis 8.5 CR - Dropbox Thread
It's now working (at least the dropbox service menu choice to generate a public url, but I haven't tried the rest of the service menu choices yet). Just install sqlite3 using synaptic, or grab it via a terminal: su apt-get install sqlite3 Note that I originally installed it using the install-it.sh script mentioned on the page I downloaded it from here: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Dr ... ent=124416
