Post Synaptic error message
I've been getting this error message when reloading:

W: GPG error: http://security.debian.org lenny/updates Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 9AA38DCD55BE302B Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (5.0/lenny) <ftpmaster@debian.org>
W: GPG error: http://volatile.debian.org lenny/volatile Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG DFD993306D849617 Debian-Volatile Archive Automatic Signing Key (5.0/lenny)

Any idea why?

Thanks,

Michel

I thought I had the right repository so i searched for and installed and ran checkaptgpg. I still have the same message.

Could you please let me know how to find it, write the right path, etc... In this thread and the Acrobat thread you suggest to add a repository but I have no idea where to find it.

Thanks,

Michel

Just use the manual solution, it is on that link as well, that should work

Well first, that message is not critical and you can ignore it for now.

Second, I have forgotten that thread, but I am pretty sure I was not the one who suggested a repository. In any case, please ask again in that thread so we can see the problem.

It was the link you referred me too who offered an automatic solution or a manual one.

The manual one is not working either I am getting the following message:

"W: GPG error: http://security.debian.org lenny/updates Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 9AA38DCD55BE302B Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (5.0/lenny) <ftpmaster@debian.org>
W: GPG error: http://www.debian-multimedia.org lenny Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 07DC563D1F41B907 Christian Marillat <marillat@debian.org>
W: GPG error: http://volatile.debian.org lenny/volatile Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG DFD993306D849617 Debian-Volatile Archive Automatic Signing Key (5.0/lenny)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems"

And now I have three bad sig instead of the previous two.

What are these anyway?

Best regards,

Michel Massoud

Use the manual method here: http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Gpg_error
It will always work. You do have to su to root in the Konsole/terminal first.

I usually use checkaptgpg, but the method in the wiki works as well

I also wonder would installing/reinstalling the debian-archive-keyring package help.

Certainly be worth a try. I've just visited the Wiki during the installation process.
