Agreed.

Only thought would be to heighten the font ever-so-slightly. I know it's supposed to look "squashed", but I think it might be just a tad much.

Again, excellent. Retains the basic logo, but "resfreshes" and "modernizes" it.

Yeah, I too thought the font could be a little different, but I liked the rest of the logo so much I didn't care about the font. I look forward to seeing what Rott3nHippi3 comes up with. I hope he is willing to put some time into this for Mepis 11.5. I think this logo along with some nice clean wallpaper, grub, etc screens would be a beautiful look for Mepis.
