Basically, it's a darkened earth, the sun rises and the planet becomes lit, and then a "SimplyMEPIS" fades in. As well as the progress bar from the official theme added to the script. |

Replace the "sun_glow.png" file with the one of your choice and see what happens. For example, this one will give you a scary Super Moon! ZOMG! Re: Earth-sunrise Plymouth theme Here's a simplified version with the MEPIS logo rising instead of the sun. Removed the logo next to the progress bar.

Re: Earth-sunrise Plymouth theme Did this for myself for the rising sun. Looks better against the dark background and has the old font. There are a lot of neat things you an do with this theme.

thanks big guy(s)  , better than i could have hoped for. i even switched it over from the solar with a custom logo. using it without the 'planet_black.png' and with the 'full moon sun_glow.png' and a custom logo, something about sid/blah … ^_^ 32... this forum rocks! thanks for all the fish :) test machine :D most excellent. PS my bootup here seems to be stuck on space-nuts theme, but it matches kdm and splash so... _________________ |

dude! that's fun, this one has the moon coming up, kind of right behind the pyramids (which were a gift from the art forum a few years back). it's Utopia's 'distro_name.png' (*very nice* imo) with the usual chops and crops. very easy to do, i used Stevo's deb and switched a couple of images around. it also works well with the planet_black.png left in, but i prefer it without.

Tweaking Plymouth themes gets just as addictive as tweaking Conky...There's another theme that looks just like Win 7's animated splash, too, that's good for fooling people. |
