Just b/c so much effort was taken to kill the very possibility of this idea, here is the M12 alpha with a deep space background.

It might be time to differentiate Mepis so this looks like a winner to me.
I mean we have no real theme unless you count blue. Does anyone else use an Astronomy-based first Desktop?
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

I like space photos but they never stay on my desktop long. The detail in them interferes with the clarity of the other stuff. They tend to be too busy for me.

The question is half the size of the universe, and the answer takes up the other half.

Yep, just waiting for posting rights on MC...
Here's a preview, will need to work out the copy right if it's a like.
Aurora Borealis Awesome

edit;edit; pic removed for CR reasons. - NH

check the others out, this pictures title is just "Awesome".
And it doesn't to me, look-like or have any win8 flavour either.
Maybe just a hint of Android ICS thinking about it now.
But I thought of it first anyways, just forgot to patent it 1st .... :tumbleweed:

You can't even post it on the forum without paying. Look at the license page. You've better remove it.
Using it as a Mepis wallpaper costs probably more than $800.
If we make our own wallpapers we don't have that problem.

Fair comments Utopia,
I like the "mepisblue" myself, it works.
But it needs a zoom up again.
Mepis 11 was the best looking mepis I have used.
Thank you everyone who put the effort in.
Mepis 11 theme rocks.

Someone asked for astro ideas, I like darker themes myself, older eyes thing.
So I suggested an idea that I'm using at the moment.

If CR or cost are a factor, there is no dispute here.

What of the style or colour key flow though?
I was looking at the "pyramid shapes, sun moon resemblance, and a "in the blue family colour" thing, wondering if this was more what people where after.

I like it myself, just waiting to try some theming stuff, icons, buttons etc, working on that kind of colour key with this new alpha.

There is no copyright issue here, just don't steal the picture please.
I'm trying to sell it to you ..

Cheers NH

Publishing the image on a forum in that size costs $250.

Utopia I beg to differ,
these pictures where referenced via a public web site, pics submitted by the photographer themselves or people acting for them.

No spam intended.

Cheers NH
PS: what do people think of the colour scheme/style?

I'm only quoting the price list: http://goldpaintphotography.com/license/
Even if someone submitted them to another site, it doesn't mean they are not under copyright. And the goldpaintphotography images are protected and not free for publishing anywhere.
Please do not use my images on blogs, personal or professional websites, or any other digital media without my explicit permission. Full resolution images for publication use can be provided upon request. Thank you.
