 Dolphin services
One quick question...under configure dolphin>services when I download some new service it doesn't seem to appear under the available service menu afterwards. I looked in the wiki but found nothing...any ideas?

 Re: Dolphin services
Most services like about 90% available from Dolphin > Services are not compatible with Mepis, which uses KDE 4.5 from 2010, they are in the main compatible with the current releases of KDE, 4.8 and 4.7, this is one of the hazards of using old KDE versions, which I fear is about to happen again if the next release uses KDE 4.6

 Re: Dolphin services
That's not what Warren is thinking, as I posted earlier: he wants to jump forward in KDE as far as possible, and at least 4.7.4 if not 4.8 is the goal.

 Re: Dolphin services
Which begs the question, why are you using 4.6, and not 4.7 from the repo's

I tried to follow the directions, but ran into problems, and was not willing to screw up this production box. I see that use of the phrase "beg the question" that is common today, but totally divorced from the actual meaning: http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/be ... stion.aspxHow language changes...

 Re: Dolphin services
Well my language is English, or as they say in the UK "Queens English" not an adaptation of it,

 Re: Dolphin services
You are missing the point. Check the OED to see what it means in proper English--nothing to do with asking a question.

No Jerry I am not missing the point at all, who do you believe a Publishing house, or Cambridge University, and the Oxford dictionary says the same thing, not much of a contest realy. http://dictionary.cambridge.org/diction ... uestion__1

 Re: Dolphin services
Which begs the question, do other languages have similar constructs? Seriously the phrase discussion should be split off in another thread, a bit off topic. It is interesting, however.
