not sure what this is on my desktop

 not sure what this is on my desktop [Solved]See the attached. I'm not sure why that yellow box started showing up.
This is from Mepis 11 on my spare computer. I never did much desktop configuration to it, just installed it to log into and use every now and then, so most of the stuff is still at the defaults. I don't have anything like this appearing on my main Mepis 11 installation. So, it looks like a Notes widget or something. I don't know how to get rid of it. Can someone point me in the right direction? You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. Re: not sure what this is on my desktop It looks like a Google Gadget to me. Clicking on the little wrench should give you a screen with details, including the command line clicking on the popup will open.

Re: not sure what this is on my desktop When I click on the wrench, the Notes Settings box opens up. I don't see any command line thing in there, though.

Re: not sure what this is on my desktop I have no idea what I did to make this thing start appearing. I don't recall doing anything out of the ordinary. I was either opening Dolphin or Synaptic when I first noticed it. I guess I accidentally clicked on something, but I don't know what.

Re: not sure what this is on my desktop There's an X at the lower left, partially obscured by your panel. Try moving the widget up and clicking that.

OK. So I've been running KDE4 without the widgets locked for like forever. The question is, how exactly does one pop up that particular widget? Especially by accident. I don't even know how to intentionally make it show up. |
