Post MEPIS 11 Community Repository: The Warzone 2100 thread.
The new 3.1.0 stable release was mentioned on the Linux Action Show, so I grabbed the source tarball from the Sourceforge page and adapted the release candidate /debian folder from Debian Experimental to build the new packages. Though our packages are not Squeeze-compatible, due to a dependency on our QT4 4.7, the source could easily be rebuilt into debs on stock vanilla Squeeze for their 4.6. The program seems to be missing in Wheezy completely, but the M11 builds should run fine on M12. I'll see if M8.5 packages are possible.

Let us know if you try this new version and how it runs. Thanks!

In Warzone 2100 you command the forces of "The Project" in a battle to
rebuild the world after mankind has almost been destroyed by nuclear
missiles.

The game offers campaign, tutorial, multi-player and single-player skirmish
modes.

An extensive tech tree with over 400 different technologies, combined with
the unit design system, allows for a wide variety of possible units and
tactics.

Warzone 2100 was created by Pumpkin Studios, published by Eidos Interactive
and is currently developed by the Warzone 2100 Project.

The campaign video sequences are not yet distributed here, please see the
Warzone 2100 website for details on downloading and installing them.

Don't forget, if you play the campaign, we strongly encourage you do download the videos as well! They tell more about the story, and have more information about some campaigns.

Visit the site for more.

Here's a sample of game play.

This should have been out earlier but it took a while to assemble something I could use prove the 32 bit version would run. It did not want to play whatsoever in a VM...Seems to run just fine on hardware though.
