MEPIS 11 Community Repo: The Minitube Thread
Update 09 August 2011: Updated version 1.5 fixes the breakage due to Youtube API change. It went straight into the main CR since the older version became useless, and the program can't really damage anything else in the system (barring an evil Minitube developer) Update 18 May 2011: Bugfix release 1.4.3 is now in the testing repo. As always, please let us know how it performs. The latest release of Minitube, 1.4.1, is now available in the M11 main testing CR. This fixes some breakage due to changes in Youtube's API. The sources are from the Minitube PPA, applied to the latest source code tarball. This package was unbuildable on M11 until a recent update of libphonon fixed the build problems. Please let us know how it's working if you try it out. Thanks! | | | | Quote: minitube - 1.4.1-1mcr110+1 Version: 1.4.1-1mcr110+1 Section: video Architecture: 32bit and 64bit Description: Minitube is a native YouTube client. With it you can watch YouTube videos in a native Linux player. Minitube does not require the Adobe Flash Player, instead using the Gstreamer multimedia backend, requiring much less CPU resources. Minitube is not about cloning the original YouTube web interface, it aims to create a new TV-like experience. Homepage: http://flavio.tordini.org/minitube | | | | |

Re: MEPIS 11 Community Repo: The Minitube Thread
I have noticed that videos start and run for a couple seconds then restart. After the first restart they run OK. Also just to report that on my AMD Turion64, both processors run at about 50% cpu load when viewing a video. This is slightly less than in Google Chrome browser which runs between 60% and 70%.. This in M11 b3 32 bit running on a 64 bit processor.

Re: MEPIS 11 Community Repo: The Minitube Thread
Stevo, Can you or someone have the latest version of Minitube, 1.5.0, added to the repo? Youtube changed some things that broke the previous versions, 1.4.3. The latest version resolves that. Best, James

Re: MEPIS 11 Community Repo: The Minitube Thread
Sure, that must be why mp4 downloader also quit working. I would bet that the Youtube part of UMPlayer is also broken.
Edit: Am building 1.5 right now, but will have to finish up tonight.

Re: MEPIS 11 Community Repo: The Minitube Thread
OK, 8.5 and 11.0 packages are in here, if you don't want to wait for them to show up in the CR. This is a single deb build, so should have no problems with gdebi installation. https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... j&hl=en_US
