 Re: Wacom Intuos
I have a Wacom Bamboo Connect Pen (CTL470 released Nov. 2011) that works well with Gimp on my Win7 laptop. I would prefer to use it on my desktop with Mepis 11.0 but after doing the the simpler steps in this thread, I cannot get it to work due to driver, kernel and other issues.. Will this tablet work with the next release of Mepis 12? Apparently it can be made to work with Mepis 11.0 with a lot of CL steps that I don't have the expertise or time to set up, tweak and hope for it to work. Unless someone can provide me with a straightforward step by step outline on how to do this, I will just have to wait until it will essentially work OTB in a linux environment. Thanks for reading my comments.

 Re: Wacom Intuos
Grabbed the tablet from the office. Here are some of the result. Mepis 11 - Roadblock - Danum's 4.8.1 1. Installed the xserver-xorg-input-wacom. 2. Installed kde-config-tablet. Reboot and everything works just fine. Mepis 11 KDE 4.7.4 Followed the instructions in this post viewtopic.php?f=11&t=30472&hilit=wacom with no luck at all. I think the problem with this computer is that I have 2 kernels installed and I can't get the comptuer to boot into the newer 3.2 kernel. The modules needed in the wacom files downloaded and installed, give errors when trying to build into the kernels. I will try a Mepis 11 KDE 4.6.5 system. I don't have a Mepis 11 stock system in the house anymore.

 Re: Wacom Intuos
Looks very promising for KDE 4.8.1. Mepis 12 goes with KDE 4.8, things like may function OTB.
It also may make a difference in which kernel is used.

 Re: Wacom Intuos
OK, I found one of my systems that is stock Mepis 11. I brought it up to date and the followed the instructions I provided in the previous thread. I had some success. The tablet works, but the configuration is located in the "Lost and Found" in the System Settings. While installing the wacom-dkms, I received this error The tablet shows up in GIMP, but not sure how to use it, other than like a mouse, which it does. Mepis 12 should be a sure bet, it it has KDE 4.8
