Post install Handbrake 0.9.4  [Solved]
Mepis 11 32 bit.
Downloaded HandBrake 0.9.4 tarball 'HandBrake-0.9.4.tar.bz2'. I extracted it to a folder then opened konsole and went to that folder and enter ./compile and got this output:
Code:
probe: host tuple...(pass) i686-pc-linux-gnu
compute: available architectures...(pass) i686
find: ar...(pass) /usr/bin/ar
find: cp...(pass) /bin/cp
find: curl...(fail) not found
find: gcc...(pass) /usr/bin/gcc
find: gmake...(pass) /usr/bin/make
find: m4...(fail) not found
  : name[0] = m4
ERROR: unable to continue; configure stop.
Is there a better way to get HandBrake? I tried the deb 0.9.3 version and it wouldn't run. I got the following error,
Code:
"Unable to create ghb.
Internal error. Could not parse UI description."
I have rarely been successful when dealing with tarballs.
Thanks,
Harold

version 0.9.5-0.1 is in the repos.

Might need to enable debian-multimedia.

+1 on the debian-multimedia tip. Handbrake uses a more complicated configuration setup than normal, involving autoconf and automake. If you want to play with compiling it, there should be instructions somewhere in the tarball with the recipe, but I'd recommend the deb.

Found it, thanks. I just didn't have the correct repositories activated.
