when I close Firefox, Libre office opens

 when I close Firefox, Libre office opensMepis 11 32 bit on my toshiba tecra. Dual boot with XP pro.
Mepis works great and a lot quicker than xp. When I close firefox, libre office opens wanting to know what type of file I want to open. Seems I saw something about this once before but my searches haven't turned up anything. Any ideas about what might be happening? Thanks, |

Re: when I close Firefox, Libre office opens do a search of this forum... someone else had this issue. if i remember correctly, it was a java related issue....

Re: when I close Firefox, Libre office opens When KDE 4.7.4 first came out, there was a java bug issue, update came in on my Kubuntu install and I have not seen the bug since.

Re: when I close Firefox, Libre office opens the other fix i posted had to do with recreating your firefox profile... that seemed to work for some.

Re: when I close Firefox, Libre office opens This has been bothering me for a while. It only affects 1 of 4 profiles I have. Following this bug report (https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389897), clearing the Firefox setting Preferances/Privacy/Clear History When Firefox Closes/Settings/Cookies checkbox resolved it for me (if you set Keep Until to "Until I close Firefox", they are cleared anyway). Apparently this is due to a bug in LibreOffice which has been fixed in a later version. As usual, different people report different experiences; the bug report has more details and strategies for fixes.

Excellent suggestion. Deleting your profile and starting afresh seems to be a cure-all for many of Firefox's ills.
