 Calibre and KDE 4.6.5
I tried Calibre from the CR and got the following output: Steve@mepis-testing:~$ calibre Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/calibre", line 19, in <module> sys.exit(main()) File "/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/gui2/main.py", line 361, in main app, opts, args, actions = init_qt(args) File "/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/gui2/main.py", line 40, in init_qt from calibre.gui2.ui import Main File "/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/gui2/ui.py", line 32, in <module> from calibre.gui2.widgets import ProgressIndicator File "/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/gui2/widgets.py", line 25, in <module> from calibre.gui2.progress_indicator import ProgressIndicator as _ProgressIndicator File "/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/gui2/progress_indicator/__init__.py", line 15, in <module> pi_error) RuntimeError: Failed to load the Progress Indicator plugin: the sip module implements API v8.0 to v8.1 but the progress_indicator module requires API v7.1
any hints as to how to make it work?
Steve

Re: Calibre and KDE 4.6.5 [Solved]
Hi, KK. Personally I just DL'd and installed the latest version from the calibre website. It installed and is running fine --no problems whatsoever on Mepis 11. http://calibre-ebook.com/download_linuxGranted, I am not running KDE 4.65, but Kovid Goyal, the Calibre dev, recommends this method instead of using the versions in various distro repos. See if it works for you! --SB

 Re: Calibre and KDE 4.6.5
Thanks SB
It works just like it should.
Steve
Sidenote: Maybe the CR version should be updated or removed.

 Re: Calibre and KDE 4.6.5
The CR version still works for folks on the stock KDE / Python. Only those who moved to the experimental KDE, or accidentally upgraded their Python when that was in the testing CR will need a rebuilt Calibre.
The downloaded version includes it's dependencies internally so it's more portable (but larger) - similar to the way Firefox tarballs are done.
