 Kernel Upgrade Problems [Solved]
I installed the 3.2 liquorix kernel from the repos, but I can't get the bot from it. I ran the following command: and I don't get any errors. I have not changed anything in the GRUB menu. It is a dual boot laptop. M11 upgraded to KDE 4.7.4. Any pointers much appreciated.

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
What's the GRUB entry for that kernel?

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
Sounds like using the 'newest kernel' entry. Is that the case?

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
Thats the same code given to me by stevo when I upgraded to 3.2. ( minus the T flag ). Perhaps you need to reinstall grub.

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
menu.list I tried to add vmlinux-3.2.0-2.dmz.1-liquorix.amd64 to the boot line, but it booted then hung, saying it could not find /dev/sda5

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
I wonder, were the vmlinuz and initrd.img symlinks created for the liquorix kernel? What does the following show?

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
You need to create vmlinuz and initrd.img links to /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-2.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 and /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-2.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 Or add an entry in menu.lst like this

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
The symlinks weren't created when the liquorix kernel was installed. You would create them by running the following root commands: After you create those symlinks the "MEPIS 11 at sda5, newest kernel" grub menu entry should boot the liquorix kernel. The entry that follows it should still boot the original 2.6.36-1-mepis64-smp kernel.

 Re: Kernel Upgrade Problems
@kmathern, That worked, boots to the new kernel. It lost the wifi upon rebooting. I'll play with it and see what happens. EDIT: Changes the interface from eth1 to wlan0 in wicd and wifi connected right away.
