Mepis 8.5 CR - Dropbox Thread
Dropbox 0.7.110 (backported from Debian Squeeze) is now available in CR TEST - both 32 and 64b.
This version is stand-alone and does not require nautilus.
Dropbox
Secure backup, sync and sharing made easy.
Dropbox is a simple, and elegant file-synchronization tool. Dropbox Basic provides 2GB of storage free, and purchasing the paid service will give more. The service stores files with strong encryption on multiple servers in Amazon's S3 service and works equally smoothly on Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs.
Can I please have testers for both 32 and 64b - so I can migrate this package to 8.5 CR MAIN as soon as possible. TIA.
In case this package does not show as the preferred option in test, check this post, as it will assist use of the CR branches.

I've been waiting for Dropbox :-) To show how ignorant I am...I'll ask the question: What is CR TEST, and is it open to anyone? I checked the repository list and didn't see it.

CR TEST is the test repo in the Community Repository. It would need enabling through Synaptic - with the usual caveats.

@Thane, There are actually four CR (Community Repo) repositories, see this post for complete details: http://www.mepislovers.org/showthread.php?t=21816 The "CR TEST" repo that Brooko is talking about is this:

Thanks for doing this, Brooko. Will your dropbox work in M8 when it is out of test? Or are there dependency issues?

I'll check on a VM later. I may have to recompile for 8.0. Will let you know tonight NZ time.

64-bit works fine so far. Let's see how it works for sending package uploads to Tim when he gets back.
