Moderation - Text Colour
There has recently been a discussion on exclusive use of text colour for Moderators - when specifically moderating the forum.
The reason we do it is to easily distinguish between posts as users, and posts as Moderators.
Thankfully as a Community - we rarely need to put the Mod hat on - but we do need to be able to do it if required. And when we act as Moderators, it needs to be easily identified.
Unofficially - we have been using red text as Moderators
I thought up until now that most recognised this - we've been doing it for a while. But Ko pointed out that it's not official - so we need to make it easily understood now.
Before we make a ruling - I'd like to throw it out to you for discussion first.
For most identifiable options - I'd suggest:
Stick with red - and only Mods to use it. OR
Use a highlight - and only Mods to use it.
Or something else?
What do you think - please advise - we'll make a decision within next 48 hours.

I'd say it's not worth a discussion, just make a choice and announce it officially.

It makes sense to reserve red text for moderation.
It separates official action from other member's suggestions - either those attempting to stifle another's opinion, or those attempting to get people to play nicely before it gets to the point of needing moderation.
I've done the latter occasionally and wouldn't want those to be taken as official pronouncements.

I would suggest red. Yes it has been unofficial, but it has been a long convention on the forum. No need to change it now.

The red text becomes obnoxious for lengthy comments. It strikes me as being just short of all caps (ie shouting).
Please go with the more subtle and classy emphasis provided by the 'highlight'.

The point is to attract attention. Sometimes mods need to shout, respectfully of course.

Either is fine from my point of view. I actually prefer the yellow highlight personally.
We evidently need an official rule since there are some who have not read the previous statements concerning red.

Either is fine with me, but I will point out that red is harder to read if you're using a dark theme.
