Announcement - the MEPIS-Community github organisation
A new github organisation called MEPIS-Community has been set up. This should make it an easier way of contributing to coding projects or to the manual. It's at https://github.com/MEPIS-Community and currently hosts the manual, the installer code and the MEPIS remastering script. Others can be added easily as needed. A great benefit of this is that teams of people can be created with a particular focus and is a better way to manage multiple projects. Please volunteer here if you wish to be involved in any of the projects. Note: you need a github account. Many thanks to AdrianTM for setting this up.

If you're happy to do that, there's no reason not to.

Of course, by the way, remastering-script has a branch for antiX. You can get the script with: Much easier to maintain it this way, I was going crazy with editing the Wiki to maintain the script, plus that the server change made it uneditable (I could not escape the forward slashes in the script). (It can always be renamed to antiX-remastering-script (but I thought the differences were so small that it was better to keep it as a branch of the same project, is probably to port changes from one branch to another one)

Re: Announcement - the MEPIS-Community github organisation
Ok.
antiX has modified some ot the MEPIS scripts to make it more relevant to antiX, but we have also added quite a few changes that MEPIS may want to include, especially as live usb. ie antiX has persistence while MEPIS doesn't. antiX has also added some more boot cheats for live cd eg set a timezone at the boot menu so users can run the live medium using the correct timezone. There are also antiX specific apps such as antix2usb script, which can easily be modified to create a live with persistence MEPIS usb stick. People are working on other scripts for antiX that may also be useful for MEPIS, eg there is a gui interface to the inxi script.
The more collaboration the better.
BTW Adrian, lagopus at antiX has an alpha gui front end to the remaster script.

Great, it would be nice to have those scripts in one place. Easier for people to contribute.

I must be dense because I still don't understand. Do you mean personal stuff like your own sandbox or what.

yes, private repo, also if you need more than the limited free space that they give you.
