My sincere apology's to the MEPIS Community Forum members.
Hello:
I had not noticed this in the forum pages:
"You can talk about other distros here, but no MEPIS bashing. You can email the developer of MEPIS if you just want to say you dislike or hate MEPIS."
I should have saved my 'rant' for a developer and made it much less 'ranty'.
I sincerely apologize to the members of this forum for my breach of etiquette.
Rob.

A "+" on the reputation points for that post! As they say over this way, "It's all good, man."

Not real sure it's necessary. Of course it's accepted. But I'd just like the positives emphasized more. We are (justifiably I think) proud of our tone and level of help here. We used to be called mepislovers. That really is a better description of who we are. It was changed due to the 'lovers' part being a target of restrictive (usually a nation-state doing this) software on the 'Net. At any rate another MEPIS or Linux User around here is a plus that we appreciate. Welcome

Re: My sincere apology's to the MEPIS Community Forum member
Robert First up - welcome. I read through the recent 'discussion' - lets put that behind us.
I know you weren't asking for help - but I'll offer some explanation. Wireless is handled different ways for different distros. Gnome based distros are VERY different to KDE based for a start.
I'm not very good with wireless but I managed to set up both my netbook and the kids PC with zero problems. Once I figured out that the easiest way was to let MEPIS do most of the setting up - and to say yes to kwallet managing the passwords - it was really a breeze.
The reason for forums - is so that if you have a problem, you can get very quick (and hopefully accurate assistance). The problem with your 'approach' - was that you didn't list what you'd tried, why you took the approach you did, and what you actually expected to happen. If you had - we'd then have some ideas to put forward to the developer to make it better for the future. Perhaps you could bear that in mind next time. Critiquing is good if it can lead to positive change. But straight bashing/ranting helps no-one - least of all you.
Anyway - I fixed your rep - let's start again - and if we can be of assistance, please let us know.
