Using ark to handle lha files

#1 Postby A4000Bear » Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:57 am

I have a large number of files archived with lha. According to the documentation with ark, it is supposed to handle lha files, provided the appropriate command line lha archiving utility is installed, which I have installed using Synaptic. However, ark does not recognise I have done this, and provides me with a list of archivers to select. Of course, lha is not one of them. How do I get the two programs to talk to each other?

I'm using Mepis 8.5, Ark 4:4.3.4-2, and lha 1.14i-10.3.

Thanks
David

Just checked, and it does not seem to work with the 4.5 version of Ark in M11 either. However, with lha installed, this right-click servicemenu is able to handle lha extractions, at least with the few files I tested:

I have it installed and working on both 8.5 and M11.

Thanks for that, Stevo.
It works very well indeed. Problem solved. :-)
