I came across these sports conkys that created with python. I seem to be only getting some of the information and just wonder what I might be missing. Re: Conky setup thread
Where's the origin of these conky files? I see that the python file needs at least the "lynx" browser installed, probably other python-modules also.

 Re: Conky setup thread
The "py" file is located in /.conky/conkyparts/. The actual conky file is in /home. as .conkyrc1
I have installed lynx.
I got the info from the Ubuntu forums and the image that was displayed with the file info, exactly the same as mine, showed all of the teams in the eastern division. Mine only shows a portion of them.
I tried the same layout for the NHL and again only got the first couple of lines in the standings.

 Re: Conky setup thread
Try running your python file on the command line: python baseball.py If you get the correct display, then it's something in the conky window settings.

 Re: Conky setup thread
Yup, that works just as it should. Must be the conky file. Edit: don't see anything in the file to stop it from displaying everything.

 Re: Conky setup thread
Just what I was looking for, that baseball script looks nifty. I haven't worked with python at all, is there anyone out there that could modify it to not only show standings, but display a team's scoreboard too? for the MN twins in the american league central division. I'd also like the same thing in an nfl flavor. NFC north, mn vikings. Stevo was nice enough to find this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... b&t=765763What would be ideal would be to have the teams in the division & their records above a simple scoreboard that showed points scored each inning/quarter. Like this (roughly, delete 'INN' and replace with whitespace): KC 3-1 CWS 2-1 MIN 1-3 CLE 1-2 DET 1-2 INN 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E MIN 0 0 1 0 2 0 0 0 1 4 10 2 TOR 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 3 8 2 But anything close to that would be nice. If anyone could build this or point me in the right direction to make this up myself, I'd appreciate it. I would do it myself but I haven't dealt with python or inserting this kind of thing into conky.

I copied the lines into a new conky I'm working and it work perfectly.
Yes, the Unbuntu forums have a ton of posts with conky info. There are some very elaborate scripts and wild looking conky's. Sky seems to be the limit.

 Re: Conky setup thread
Try for cpu temp. It works for me when acpi fails in newer kernels. Mine is a pentium 4 single core processor. Edit the "Core 0" part to fit your multi processors like "Core 1", "Core 2", etc...... Just another one you can try also that I use in case the above does not work for you.
