My thought also.

We probably need more than one working on it, I can begin collecting useful stuff too. Henry

I've placed some rough notes.

Good start. In the asking for help notes you may want to refer to this: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=29042

 Re: Starting M11 Manual revision
I totally forgot about your guide. I placed it in total so when the Editor goes over the page he/they can clean it up. Thanks for the heads up.

 Re: Starting M11 Manual revision
As I started with Mepis (6), I stumbled through various issues, and asked questions on this forum (the best I have encountered) and was frequently advised to read the manual and/or the wiki. I did - but usually was not able to find the answer, even though it was likely in there, somewhere. Then one day, I browsed thru the entire manual with no particular issue in mind. At last! I began to understand what the manual was all about. So, perhaps to suggest a casual, non-emergency trip through the book of knowledge would help the beginner?

 Re: Starting M11 Manual revision
Talking about wiki, is anybody going to do a review? Is anybody taking over the Wiki project, I think the last time we had a little bit too ambitious goal of setting 3 or 4 wikis for different versions of MEPIS, in my opinion we should clone the Wiki and then purge from one the info that doesn't pertain to the current version of MEPIS and direct people with older MEPIS versions to the old wiki.
Some logical steps: 1. duplicate wiki 2. start to delete old stuff (some is already tagged as "old") and tag {{review}} for the entries that need to be discussed, reviewed by more people before deleting or updating the entries to make them current.

It's needed for sure, just haven't had the time or energy to organize it.
