logout/restart/shutdown

#1 Postby flebber » Fri Aug 26, 2011 8:17 am

On my antix install I am basically using fluxbox and gnome. What I notice though is that in the fluxbox session I have full access to shutdown/logout/reboot but in the gnome session I can only logout. Is there anyway to get the full list of options in gnome.

What version of GNOME are you using?

hi guys,

I had what sounds like the same problem with my antiX xfce and got it working nicely with an icon linking to /usr/local/bin/exitantix.sh . it does everything that I want except log out... the xfce log out button still works fine for that ;).

good luck

you could even place it in your home folder and it still works... it's probably cleaner to link to it though. also found something about sudo halt... :shh: slightly older thread.

@Doughbury Gnome2 version unsure as at work but was installed via the meta-package install.

@loco Thanks that sounds like a solution I will try it when I get back home.

To enable the standard gnome System -> Shut Down.. -> HIbernate/Restart/Shut Down options another solution is to install gdm3.

Return to “antiX”
