Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
I don't see a mythes-en-us package in the L.O. repository. Are you sure this package is necessary? I believe L.O. Writer has a built-in thesaurus: Tools > Language > Thesaurus.

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
Without some sort of thesaurus installed, the menu entry is grayed out. You must have another thesaurus installed.
I tried to install openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us, but it wants to remove debian-menus too. I was able to install kthesaurus, but am not yet sure whether LO will/can use it.

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
The mythes-en-us package is from Warren's repo ( ftp://ftp.mepis.com/mepis/pool/main/o/o ... tionaries/) and was preinstalled with M11. It will work with Warren's LibreOffice and the Debian OpenOffice.org packages but I don't think it plays nicely with the packages from the tuxfamily.org repo. Take a look here: http://extensions.libreoffice.org/exten ... ctionaries

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
I saw that earlier, but it is only marked for versions up to 3.4. Maybe I should try it though, thanks for the reminder. EDIT: It installs in LO using the Extension Manager and shows up there, but Tools > Language > Thesaurus is still grayed out. I will return to this another time, I have to get to work...

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
I've rebuilt the mythes-en-us package without the dependency for libreoffice-core, so it should be able to be installed without removing libreoffice-debian-menus. You might give it a try when you get a chance. {link removed since it didn't seem to work for Jerry3904}

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
Try opening Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids Under "Available language modules" see if there's a check box entitled "OpenOffice.org New Thesaurus," or another name indicating a thesaurus function. That box should be checked.

That box is blank.
Kent's package installed, but Thesaurus entry still disabled after logging out/in.
Occasional autosave bug, telling me that the document has been altered since I opened it (ha!) and freezing the program.
I'm going to use it the rest of the workday, then probably purge and go back to 3.4. This application is too critical for me to have any serious problems.

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
I downloaded the libreoffice tar.gz from libreoffice.org and installed it using dpkg, after completely removing the previous version with synaptic. It seems to work fine, including the thesaurus. I do see "OpenOffice.org New Thesaurus" as you mentioned, but for the life of me I can't find any installed thesaurus package in synaptic.

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
The reason you don't remember installing a thesaurus is because you didn't. Libre Office should have one pre-installed. If you go to Tools > Extension Manager, you should see an entry entitled: "English (Australia, Canada, South Africa, UK, USA) spelling dictionaries, hyphenation, and thesaurus" There's a lock symbol to the right, meaning this extension was installed by default and it cannot be removed. Although the thesaurus should be installed by default, it needs to be enabled by checking the box next to OpenOffice.org New Thesaurus under Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids.

Re: Libre Office 3.5 Now Available in Repository
I get that now. I was just expecting it to be a separate package.
