that's interesting... would seem to indicate that something weird between FF amd TB is occurring...

try your experiment, then also try having both in safe mode.

could be that either/or is using the other's addons.

Again with Dolphin open, a Libre office document open and FF opened in safe mode(three tabs), TB will not start.

I closed LO and started TB in safe mode. Then tried to restart LO and the icon just spins and will not start. Starting LO from Konsole gives me this error"

You probably already have done this but there is a lot of information on the internet about this. Doing a search on max clients reached reveals them. However there does not seem to be one solution. There may be some tips there however.

Something I found http://www.stitson.com/pub/book_html/node72.html and I then performed as normal user:

Not sure if this good for me or not.

I will run things for a bit and see if the error persist.

I'm not sure if this command has to be implement on each start up or if this permanent.

you shouldn't have to do this. it's a new piece of info you've thrown in about LO... i posted a couple of fixes for LO issues where it was starting up after FF was closed. do a search for libre office and my handle and you'll see two potential fixes that may help.

In Konsole as user, (to get number of clients being used)


	Code: xlsclients \|wc -l

Then


	Code: xwininfo -root -children\|wc -l

Then start Firefox


	Code: xwininfo -root -children\|grep firefox\|wc -l

You can check any app by starting it and changing firefox in the command above to the app you have started.
The maximum number of X clients is about 255.

This is what I get, not Mepis but it will give you a rough guide.


	Code: danum@Danums-System:~$ xlsclients \|wc -l 114 danum@Danums-System:~$ xwininfo -root -children\|wc -l 191 danum@Danums-System:~$ xwininfo -root -children\|grep firefox\|wc -l 5 danum@Danums-System:~$

Yes, the LO is new to this post. Yet when this problem happens, no other programs will start. I've had synaptic, konsole and kwrite to name a few not start with this problem.
