How to migration Root FS from reiserfs to ext4
I installed Mepis on the Reiserfs, but now wish to change Root file system to Ext4. I've tried a few times, but think the Initrd on the boot time encountered with error, when boot the system with new Ext4 partition. Do i need to apply on the Initrd file? I do the copy progress with "rsync -azvr" command.

Re: How to migration Root FS from reiserfs to ext4
I have done something like that but instead of using rsync, I used cp -ax media/source* media/destination then I fixed permissions by logging in as root instead of the user and issues chown -R NAME /home/NAME && chgrp -R users /home/NAME
Logged out of root and after that, the system operated as normal when logged in as a regular user.

You probably just need to reinstall Grub... use the LiveCD and do a Grub repair.

Do it, just "grub-install", but didn't solve. Both before and after above action encountered whit following error: and other things like this. I tried with "single user mode", after geven root password tried create a directory in the root home directory but said: Whatever the problem related to the file system. In your opinion rsync don't suitable for this job.

Hmm, you cannot write on the partition, it's not rsync's fault. Did you mount the partition read only somehow?

Not sure what you're asking about, but ro is read-only. rw is read-write.
